Twenty-Seven
Today is my husband’s 27th birthday!
As I was thinking a couple of days ago about his approaching birthday, I realized that we’ve spent 1/3 of our lives together. WHOA. We started dating in high school and in some ways that seems like just yesterday, and in others, it seems like that was a lifetime ago.
So in honor of his birthday, I thought I would list out 27 things that I love about him {and share some pictures of him that will make you wonder how we ever manage to get good ones}:
1 // His smile.
2 // His patience.
3 // His laugh {yes, this is different from his smile! His laugh is infectious}.
4 // The way he loves his family.
5 // His loyalty— don’t mess with someone he cares about, it won’t end well for you.
6 // He’s tall!
7 // His curly hair {I sure hope our future kids get that from him! Mine is stick straight}.
8 // He’s a really good cook.
9 // He’s smart. Like really smart. He underestimates himself.
10 // His beard. He grew it out about 18 months ago and I tell him all the time that he can’t ever shave it. There’s just something about a man with facial hair…
11 // He’s such a gentleman. To this day, he still insists on opening the doors for me whenever we are walking together. He also holds it for anyone else around us.
12 // His respect for his parents and mine.
13 // His protectiveness for me and women in general {want to see him get angry, turn on an episode of SVU where a woman has been hit or raped or hurt in any fashion. He’ll seriously turn it off or walk away he gets so angry, and that’s not even real}.
14 // His amazing ability to calm me down when I’m upset.
15 // His humor. This man has me in fits of laughter a LOT.
16 // He’s introverted. Since I am extroverted, this has helped balance me out over the years.
17 // He’s quite the craftsman. He and his dad have built an entertainment center, a coffee table, and are currently working on a bed for us!
18 // He vacuums and scrubs the toilets.
19 // He loves video games {he’ll be very surprised to read this, because usually I complain about how much time he spends playing them, but really, I like that he has something he enjoys. And I’ll take video games over football— or any sport for that matter— any day}.
20 // He challenges me. He teaches me to be a better person.
21 // His hugs. He can just envelope me and make me feel like nothing can ever hurt me with just a simply hug.
22 // His butt. Sorry if that’s TMI, but he has one sexy rear-end.
23 // He’s a nerd. And he’ll be the first one to tell you that.
24 // His dance moves {except for when we are in the car— he purposefully does it when others can see just to embarress me lol}.
25 // He is passionate. Get him talking about something he loves and you might not be able to shut him up!
26 // He knows every word and can rap the entire “Ice, Ice Baby” song.
27 // He’s mine. Sorry ladies…
