A New Design

This is a very overdue post.

I feel so bad that it took me this long to share with you all the hard work Ash from The Grits Blog did on my blog design. I didn’t want to say much until I got that weird spacing issue that I was having figured out. Somehow when I installed the design she’d created, I did something to throw off the spacing with the layout. I didn’t feel like it was right to advertise her work until it was fixed because I didn’t want anyone to think it was something on her end, which it absolutely was NOT. And unfortunately I still don’t quite have my site up to par when you are viewing it from a mobile device, but the desktop version is pretty darn awesome thanks to Ash!

So some background on how Ash and I started working together on my design. I had actually entered a giveaway on The Lauren Elizabeth blog for a free design from Ashley back around September, but didn’t really think about it again because I never win stuff like that lol. Lo and behold, I got an email from Lauren several weeks later that I had won! I couldn’t believe it! I’ve been reading Ashley’s blog for a long time. We have a lot in common, especially with the infertility issues, so the opportunity to get to work with her was very exciting!

Ashley reached out to me soon after and we started talking about what I was looking for in a design. After LOTS of emails, she was able to create the design you see here today.

And I am in LOVE. Every time I look at my site, I get so happy! I’ve had this blog for almost two years, and it’s the first time it really feels like the design is “me.” Up to this point, I had been using pre-made layouts on WordPress, which were fine, but didn’t allow for the personality I was looking for. Thanks to Ashley, I have just that!

Under Construction

Sorry if things look a little off when you view this site right now. My hubby is working on installing this fabulous new layout that Ash at The Grits Blog designed.

But you know how when you start messing around with something, it never fails that something will break?! Well, for some reason we got the layout installed, but the spacing got out of whack and we can’t seem to get it right.

We should have it fixed in the next few days, but I hope y’all will bear with me until that happens!

What’s your favorite Disney movie quote? Oohh this is hard. I was going to say the “And in the morning, I’m making waffles!” from Shrek because I quote that line all the time, but then I realized that isn’t a Disney movie haha! But my favorite Disney movie is Lilo and Stitch and though it’s hard to pick just one because there are so many great ones, I will have to go with when Lilo says “Leave me alone to die.”

What social media platform do you like best? Instagram! I love seeing the pictures people share and there is a lot less drama on there.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years (& not just with your blog!)? Of course, I hope this blog continues to grow. But I also really hope to have at least one kid, maybe two. I want to be a stay-at-home mom but I would also still like to find my “niche” in life. I hope to be completely out of debt by then too!
Whats your favorite meal of the day? Hmm… I think dinner. I like that I can eat then just go lay on the couch since the day is over hahaha!
If you could only listen to one song a day, what would today’s be? It would be the hymn “It is Well with my Soul.” The words in that song are so powerful and applicable to anything going on in your life.
If you could go on one, all expense paid trip, where it would be & why? Greece! I’m half-Greek so I would love to go see the place where my dad’s family comes from. There’s such a rich culture and history there too.
What are your other hobbies? Photography (though I’m not really good), reading, and recently, I’ve been wanting to try hand-lettering and caligraphy.
Have you tried even half the pins you have on Pinterest? not even close
Whats the first thing you do every morning? Hit my snooze button about 10 times, then finally get up to pee
Whats the last thing you do every night? I can’t fall asleep with cold feet, so I usually curl up next to my husband and stick my feet between his legs to warm them up! He rarely appreciates that but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!
