I have to admit, I was struggling to come up with a list for this week’s Favorite Things Topic. I haven’t had to think too much about presents because my side of the family is taking a trip in lieu of gifts (Harry Potter World, here I come!!!).
But I do still have to shop for Jeff’s side of the family, so that is the inspiration for today’s list.
The “For Her” side is geared towards my mother-in-law. Shopping for her is a little bit of a challenge this year because I have to avoid anything skin related as she’s been diagnosed with some major allergies and has to avoid pretty much all lotions, fragrances, and oils.
Though she can’t have any kind of fragrance on her skin, she can still enjoy candles, and this one from Yankee Candle is my new favorite. They are wood-wick, so they burn for so much longer than a traditional wick! I’ve been constantly burning them around my house.
My mother-in-law has also mentioned that she’d like a crockpot so that is an easy item to include. Then I saw the mug and immediately thought of her– she owns her on florist, so she is the boss!
The “For Him” section is focused on things my father-in-law would like. He’s the definition of “country boy” so he loves anything camo, which drew me to the hat. Plus he loves Ford, so that makes it a winner!
He also likes to hunt, so I was thinking he’d enjoy the riflescope or the watch which has a night mode and a compass. And he’s a huge fan of Walking Dead, so of course I had to include that on the list.
